Welcome to my beautiful cottage, located in the forest above the superb town of Nelson, BC. Nelson has been tagged ‘the best small arts town in North America’, and has ‘the #1 powder ski location’ at Whitewater ski hill. There are more restaurants here per capita than anywhere else in BC!
This simply furnished cottage is ideally suited to one or two people. It has a beautiful wooden staircase leading to a sleeping loft, where a queen sized bed has wonderful views of the treetops overlooking Nelson and the lake. A window seat in the main living space is possible sleeping space for a child.
The main living area is open-plan with kitchen and bathroom. Everything is brand new for 2016. The whole cottage is airy, and very bright with many windows. Electric baseboard heat throughout keeps it cosy and warm. The cottage is fully equipped for simple living: few electronic gadgets (no TV or microwave), but there is wi-fi. This cottage does not have storage space suited to long-term/ permanent accommodation.
This is a very private location (my own home is located on the same property, but completely separate). The cottage is located in the forest, with parking about 40m away. Mountain Station gets more snow than downtown Nelson. Be prepared for winter driving – winter tires are a must (in winter).
Located on ‘Mountain Station’ above Nelson, we are at the start of many of the famed mountain bike trails, and the property is adjacent to the “rails to trails” that provides great flat walking in all seasons, and cross country skiing when conditions permit in winter.
It is 10 minutes drive to the Nelson Cross country ski area at ‘Apex’ and 20 minutes to Whitewater downhill ski area; we are well suited for all outdoor enthusiasts. Located in the peaceful forest we also provide a fantastic retreat away from the pressures of life. And if you’re working in Nelson, we are 2 minutes to the Nelson hospital and 5 minutes to Baker street.
